It has been over five years since Brett Marie Bruce's daughter, Jen Thomas, joined her in the La Habra Heights office. After graduating in four years from Arizona State University in 2004 with a double major, she studied for and received her real estate license in the same year. She started with Brett learning the ropes as a transaction coordinator. With all the paperwork generated by a real estate sale, it takes someone well organized and tenacious to keep everything in order. After mastering that responsibility, Jen has also taken on the additional responsibility of working as a buyer's and seller's agent.
Jen was born and raised in Fullerton where she attened Sunny Hills High School. She also lived awhile in La Habra Heights. Currently she is back in Fullerton where she has become a homeowner and taxpayer. That has also become a learning experience.
On the personal side, Jen attends EV Free Church in Fullerton. You may also her her spending her free time in downtown Fullerton meeting up with her firends. As for hobbies, reading books makes the list but shopping absolutely does not. It is a rare girl that doesn't like to shop. She is also a "Parrothead" which when translated means she is simply a big Jimmy Buffett fan. That is also reflected in her unusual email address,Jen7Parrot@aol.com.
On the quieter side, she enjoys doing the new craze crossword, SuDoku, and also taking a stab at Wheel of Fortune, a throwback to her old spelling bee days. But one of the things she likes the most is going for long fast walks before or after work to help her unwind. Walking her local neighborhoods also gives her a chance to enjoy the community she has always loved.
Jen recently married in March of 2009 changing her last name to Smude. After a beautiful wedding on a yacht in Newport Beach, she and her husband, Luke, went skiing in Whistler, Canada and enjoyed the time away.
Now focusing on her own real estate career, Jen finds herself focusing on both buyers and sellers. It is truly exciting to see the eagerness of buyers and satisfaction when they have found their new home. It is rewarding to help sellers transition from one chapter of their life to the next.
